Today, bloggers from all over the world are spreading the love for vultures, by participating in the IVAD09 virtual event.
All participants of IVAD09 aim to raise awareness about the important role vultures play in our environment and the alarming problems vultures are facing today. Birdlife.org posted: ‘The world needs to learn to love vultures – or lose them‘.
Lets make that happen!

I also made a post on my blog, mostly about the Turkey Vultures I see in my neighborhood. Thanks to everyone for the support of the Vultures.
Happy IVAD!
Just posted a photo of a hooded vulture on my photoblog, with links to IVAD09 and the BirdLife International article. Keep up the good work, everyone :^)

Hi
The BIG day is finally here! Best of luck to everyone who will be raising awareness re vultures and their conservation today.
I will be visiting the Scheerpoort vulture colony later today after doing a presentation or two at Kerri Wolter’s facility near Hartbeespoort. Happy to say that I will be heading down to the Maloti-Drakensberg and Transkei-areas in South Africa on Sunday for a week of vulture fieldwork.
A great project!!!!
Love to be able to take part with some of my Vulture photos.
Keep up this brilliant work!!
Already looking forward to the next International Vulture Awareness Day
Thank you Katja.
Thanks for hosting this great blogfest – I heard about it on Twitter.
Thanks for doing this! Good luck with the day…
This was a fun project and I learned a lot about vultures while writing my post.
So glad I found this. Wonderful idea to help educate others. Thanks.
It’s a somewhat late submission, but I just published my blog post contribution to IVAD over at Reconciliation Ecology. I’ve also posted a gallery of images of the California Condor from the Grand Canyon over on Flickr. Please visit these links, and leave me a comment if you like what I’ve shared (or even if you don’t)!
Looks like my Flickr link didn’t post properly in the above comment, so here it is again:

Hi Madhu, not late at all. I’m expecting more links to come in on Monday and perhaps even Tuesday. Some people are away for the weekend (counting vultures) and won’t be able to participate earlier.
I will visit your blog and Flickr stream soon.

I had a full day today but found time to spread the word about vultures to birding and non-birding friends alike. The post I included in the link widget above (#66) discusses a bit about the systematics of vultures (there are three distinct groups) and includes a few photos. Thanks for putting this together!
I finally had time to publish my own post for IVAD09. It’s up
